Comics, a literature and an art form 1

Wishing you all a Great Day!!!

Comics forms  a part in literature! It is also a communication expressed using the images. It also has a variety like Humor, Fun, Laughter, Fiction, Super Heroes...It is looked as an art form expressed in a best way.

I had known comics from Thinathanthi Newspaper Comic Strips, ever ending episodes of "Kanni Theevu". I need not remember earlier episodes, but in my school days, whenever i get the paper, i will turn the Page 2 and read it. It was interesting and they had chosed Sindbad story. With just 4 strips, it had created the everending interest in me. The Literature combined with art form creates more interest in our minds like dance with song, singing with musical instruments. Comic inspires of all ages, of all backgrounds, inspite of whatever mood you are in now, will take you to the comic world and relaxes you for moments of present.

I had also read comic novels - spiderman, superman and Hindu's saturday and sunday supplements comics were also interest us in reading. Amul's comic kind of advertising with effective communication on current trends with children's product had always makes me to the look at the world of comics with admiration!!!

Now, educators think of using comics in education and many scholars research on comics. USA had started using comics as an educational medium from the middle of 20th century.

"The use of comic books actually enables students to better remember information.
Our research showed that the students that read a comic book version got more memory questions correct compared to when the same information was presented in text format alone – or in a combination of random images and text. This shows that the way comic books are structured – to include a special combination of words and pictures in a certain sequence – increases students’ ability to remember information."

Now Comics taking dimension of Graphic Novels and in the movies too!

Whatever the form is, comic kindles the interest us towards reading!

Personalities about the Comic :
Mr.Dave Gibbons : Comics are all about making it believable and helping people to get completely lost in a fictional world.

Mr.William Moulton Marston : Comics speak, without qualm or sophistication, to the innermost ears of the wishful self. The response is like that of a thirsty traveler who suddenly finds water in the dessert - he drinks to satiation.

Mr.Bill Griffith : Comics is a language. It's a language most people understand intuitively.

Mr.Grant Morrison : Comics can do a lot of things that movies can't do and vice versa.

Originated in the 1970's, Buddha is Osamu Tezuka's unparalleled rendition of the life and times of Prince Siddhartha. Tezuka's storytelling genius and consummate skill at visual expression blossom fully as he contextualizes the Buddha's ideas, with an emphasis on action, emotion, humour and conflict as Prince Siddhartha runs away from home, travels across India and questions Hindu practices such as ascetic self-mutilation and caste oppression. Rather than recommend resignation and impassivity, Tezuka's Buddha predicates enlightenment upon recognizing the interconnectedness of life, having compassion for the suffering, and ordering one's life sensibly. Furthermore, his approach is slightly irreverent in that it incorporates something that Western commentators often eschew, namely, humour. Contents:- The Box Set includes Buddha Vol 1Kapilvastu Buddha Vol 2The Four Encounters Buddha Vol 3Devadatta Buddha Vol 4The Forest of Uruvela Buddha Vol 5 Deer Park Buddha Vol 6Ananda Buddha Vol 7Prince Ajatasattu Buddha Vol 8 Jetavana.

Happy Reading!
